Saturday was a busy day; busy as in working outside. With the upcoming Arkansas situation there are a lot of things here that need to be done.
I was sitting at the table in the kitchen visiting with company when I saw him coming back up to the house on the mower. He started motioning to me from the window to come outside with my camera. Fast.
We walked down to the pond and he tells me that while he was mowing he noticed something weird in a tall patch of brush.
I thought it was dead when I first saw it. It wasn’t moving at all. It’s eye was glazed over. The night before there was a major storm and I think she was down there all night. The mother wasn’t coming back. She was too thin. We scooped her up and got her back to the house. Force fed her colostrum from neighboring goats and the next day, she was so much better. She was alive, and she was moving around. JUMPING around. Following Buttercup around. We called the game warden who took her to a rehabilitation center nearby that is state approved and run by a retired lady. See ya later, baby deer!
